In the context of a recent resignation, we are looking for a Global Inventory Accountant to work closely with our Global Financial Controller, Supply Chain and Warehousing teams to manage the global inventory portfolio. Delivering timely, accurate financial and operational information, this is an exciting opportunity to work internationally, improve processes and drive change within the business.
You will be based in the UK, covering 4 global trading entities. This role will work closely with the Finance team and Operations to support the business in its efforts to achieve its objectives.
The Global Inventory Accountant will:
Manage all financial aspects of the global inventory portfolio.
Collaborate and actively participate with internal sales leaders and management to secure accurate forecast numbers.
Consolidate and load monthly sales forecasts.
Manage and actively support operations in the monthly planning process.
Ensure a smooth internal month and year-end close.
Manage the global audit process for inventory related items.
Ensure that reported results are provided with pace and accuracy.
Perform pre-close checks, post journals and reconcile inventory with GL accounts.
Oversee all monthly transactions, journals, accruals & prepayments to ensure accuracy of the monthly/annual accounts for inventory related items.
Ensure inventory expenses and CoGs align with internal policies including excess stock.
Calculate review and post all global slow and obsolete stock provisions.
Prepare and review all inventory balance sheet reconciliations for all global entities, support variance analysis.
Prepare, review & manage PPV reporting for internal stakeholders.
Provide monthly/annual account analysis with supporting commentary to GFC.
Manage COS stock (based at subcontract manufacturing partners) and the associated P&L/Working Capital risk by working closely with supply chain and operations.
Assist in the preparation of Cash Flow forecasts for inventory suppliers.
Prepare and review GRNI balance sheets.
Support operational teams with systems processes.
Manage Global Standard Cost policies and procedures ensuring accuracy.
Establish financial policies & procedures to ensure all appropriate standards are met and best practice is consistently followed globally.
Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to measure performance and demonstrate continual improvement.
Conduct physical inventory checks and internal control testing.
Build cross functional relationships to ensure that operational output is understood from a financial perspective.
Replenish third party ecommerce consigned stock.

Experience of the main Microsoft Office programmes - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc
A strong understanding of inventory accounting not limited to but including standard cost accounting, inventory valuation, PPV, manufacturing/production and GRNI.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
A willingness to be hands on with the ability to move between day-to-day detail and global, top-level reporting & analysis.
Extensive experience of ERP systems and inventory workings. Trend Networks currently uses Navision (mostly) as well as Sage (in one trading entity).
Strong communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Ensure that all Inventory Reporting is efficient and accurate by proposing and implementing recommendations for improvement.
