Job Description

As an

Inventory Controller

, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the inventory of all materials and components required for production of equipment used within the Hydrogen Energy Sector.

The role requires meticulous organisation to ensure that kits are prepared correctly, on time, and meet the exact needs of production, working closely with the Production team and Materials Planner to support efficient, uninterrupted operations while also maintaining inventory accuracy. Maintaining and reporting accurately on stock levels and unutilised items.

DUTIES



Inventory Management

: Oversee daily inventory operations, maintaining accurate stock levels and reducing waste through effective inventory management processes.

Goods Inspections

: Check goods received for accuracy against purchase order requirements and report any discrepancy or quality issues to the Material Planner and QHSE.

Kitting Operations

: Ensure materials are precisely assembled and delivered on time, minimising errors that could disrupt production.

Stock Monitoring and Reporting

: Track stock levels and generate regular reports on variances and shortages to relevant stakeholders. Ensure adequate replenishment levels are in place for standard materials.

Stakeholder Collaboration

: Work closely with the Production team, Materials Planner, and other departments to support seamless operations.

Inventory Optimisation

: Identify and implement strategies to reduce excess stock, enhance turnover, and mitigate risks.

Process Improvement

: Continuously assess and refine inventory control processes to improve accuracy and compliance.

ERP System Management (Emir)

: Utilise Emir to manage and monitor inventory control activities, ensuring accurate stock records.

Compliance and Safety

: Adhere to safety regulations and environmental policies, collaborating with QHSE to ensure compliance.

Ensure good housekeeping of stores and associated areas

: Stores to be organised in a way to ensure good flow of materials and movement.

Goods despatch

: To support all despatches by enquiring correct paperwork and materials are available for despatch.

MAIN DELIVERABLES IN ROLE



Accurate, timely and meticulous kitting for all Projects.

Maintenance of up-to-date, accurate inventory records.

Accurate management of the ERP system.

Regular and timely inventory reports with insights on variances and stock status.

Improved inventory efficiency through optimised stock levels and minimised waste.

Process improvements leading to higher accuracy and compliance in inventory management.

Improve quality checks of goods receiving and dispatch with support to load and unload goods as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION



Education



Minimum of HNC in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.

Technical Knowledge



2+ years of experience in inventory control, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in an engineering, manufacturing or energy-related industry.

Proficiency in ERP System for inventory management.

Skills



Strong attention to detail, particularly in kitting operations where accuracy is critical.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Confident to deal with ambiguity

Proactive and quick thinking

Safety and Compliance



Familiarity with industry safety regulations and environmental standards.

Ability to work closely with QHSE teams to ensure adherence to safety policies.

Communication and Collaboration



Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams (Materials Planner, Production, Design, QHSE, and Finance) and external stakeholders (Suppliers, Procurement, Logistics partners).

Clear and concise reporting to management and other stakeholders.

Attention to Detail



High level of accuracy in inventory control, particularly in kitting operations, to prevent disruptions in production schedules.

Ability to conduct thorough audits and checks to ensure inventory accuracy and completeness.

Adaptability



Willingness to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment, handle multiple priorities, adapt to changing technologies, processes, and industry trends.

The role will support when the Material Planner is absent.

FLT trained is preferred but training will be provided.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 28,000.00 per year
