Job Description

Please note this is a Level 3 Apprenticeship opportunity. This means we cannot accept anyone with an IT related qualification that is equivalent to Level 3 or higher, or anyone who already has extensive experience in an IT related role.



Main purpose:

To contribute to David Nieper being a world class fashion business by providing the best possible service to the internal customers/users of David Nieper's IT systems. Build knowledge of IT systems, resolve issues as quickly as possible and put in place improvements, so that the business functions as efficiently as possible. To develop skills, knowledge, and experience through hands-on work and training, as well as classroom and e-learning. Support the growth of the business and key strategic aims

From 8.00 per hour, up to National living wage (based on age and experience)

Hours:

39 hours per week

Mon-Fri, 9am - 5:30pm

Technical Support:



Provide first-line and second-line IT support for employees, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including servers, workstations, and networking equipment. Perform troubleshooting and repair for computer hardware, software, peripherals, and operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.). Handle user requests and service tickets in a timely and professional manner. Assist with the maintenance and management of the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Support backup and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability. Monitor system performance, resolve issues, and make recommendations for system improvements. Participate in the deployment of software updates, security patches, and system upgrades.

Project Assistance:



Support IT projects by assisting with system implementations, migrations, and upgrades. Help with the setup and configuration of IT equipment for new users and departments. Collaborate with senior IT staff in the planning and execution of internal IT projects.

Documentation & Reporting:



Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory, system configurations, and IT procedures. Assist in the creation and updating of user guides, FAQs, and other documentation. Provide reports on system performance, support metrics, and project progress as required by the IT team.

Security & Compliance:



Assist in ensuring IT security standards and policies are adhered to, including password management, data encryption, and anti-virus software. Support the implementation of organizational security measures to protect against cyber threats. Participate in IT audits and compliance checks.

Training & Development:



Apprenticeship Program: Participate in a structured apprenticeship program, leading to a recognized IT qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in IT) Certifications: Opportunities to gain experience and certifications in various IT disciplines. On-the-Job Learning: Hands-on experience working with a variety of technologies and systems in a real-world IT environment. Engage in continuous learning and professional development through apprenticeship training and certification courses. Develop technical skills in networking, cloud technologies, and enterprise applications. Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions to stay updated on best practices and industry trends.

Qualities & Skills Required:



Must be able to mentor and train users on the use of the technologies used at Aimia Foods either on a one-to-one basis or to a group for example but not limited to trouble shooting, usage, housekeeping, introduction of new IT systems and services. Good communicator with effective interpersonal skills to work well with people at all levels
