Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and skilled IT Support Assistant to join our team at Halton Haven Hospice.
The IT Support Assistant will provide day-to-day technical support to staff and volunteers, helping to maintain our core systems (Microsoft 365/Teams, EMIS, XERO, Donorflex, HR, EPOS, etc.) and working closely with the Associate Director of IT & Transformation to deliver resilient, secure and reliable IT services. This position is based at Halton Haven Hospice in Runcorn (WA7 6EP). Regular on-site attendance is a requirement of the role
The Hospice is a healthcare charity that delivers vital care to people suffering from life limiting illnesses across Halton, with staff who work in medical, nursing and care roles together with those who work with our income generation service that supports our fundraising. We employ around 60 staff.

Main duties of the job
Job Summary
Act as the first point of contact for IT issues, providing technical support on hardware, software, and network matters.
Support account management (creation, modification, disabling) while ensuring compliance with GDPR, NHS Digital requirements, and other data security regulations through system updates, security monitoring, and controlled user access.
Assist with the maintenance and updating of IT equipment, asset registers, licences, and warranties.
Provide support for key hospice systems, including:
Office 365
EMIS
Electronic Prescribing system
Xero
Donorflex
HR systems
EPOS
Vantage
Escalate issues appropriately to the Associate Director or external support providers.
Support training sessions, user guides, and IT clinics to build staff IT confidence.
Assist in the implementation of new applications, upgrades, and security improvements in line with the hospices digital transformation strategy. This includes supporting the expansion of digital clinical systems and approaches that: o Enhance patient care o Streamline workflows o Improve staff efficiency
Provide cover for certain IT-related Associate Director responsibilities during periods of absence (with training provided).
