Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic

IT Assistant

to support the day-to-day running of our IT function. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, this role will provide first-line technical support, assist with system administration, and contribute to the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and digital platforms.

This is a hands-on role that will suit someone looking to develop their IT skills within a dynamic and growing business.

Key Responsibilities1. IT Support

Act as the first point of contact for IT-related queries and issues across the business. Provide technical support for hardware, software, networks, and user accounts. Assist with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving IT problems in a timely manner. Escalate complex issues to the IT Manager when required.
2. Systems & Infrastructure

Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, and mobile devices. Support the monitoring and maintenance of networks, servers, and system performance. Help manage software updates, backups, and system security. Maintain accurate IT asset and inventory records.
3. User Support & Training

Provide basic training and guidance to staff on IT systems and tools. Prepare user guides, FAQs, and documentation to support internal IT use. Support new employee onboarding with IT setup and access.
4. Security & Compliance

Assist in monitoring and implementing cybersecurity measures. Help ensure data protection and GDPR compliance across IT systems. Report and document potential security incidents.
5. Web & Digital Support

Work with the Web Developer to support website maintenance and performance. Provide technical assistance for digital tools and integrated platforms.
6. Project Support

Assist with IT projects such as system upgrades, software rollouts, and process improvements. Contribute ideas for improving efficiency, security, and user experience.
Key Skills & Experience

Previous experience in an IT support or junior IT role (desirable but not essential). Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows environments, and cloud systems. Strong problem-solving and organisational skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
