About the role
DS Smith is seeking an exceptional IT Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in our strategic EUDR (EU Deforestation-free Regulation) project implementation for an initial 6 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC). With the EU's extended deadline of December 30, 2025, we are accelerating our efforts to ensure full compliance ahead of schedule.
In this critical position, you will be the linchpin responsible for capturing and translating complex business requirements into robust IT solutions that align with our IT strategy and infrastructure. Your expertise will bridge the gap between business needs and technical capabilities, enabling seamless integration across our intricate application landscape.
Key Responsibilities:Drive the requirements specification process for EUDR in close collaboration with cross-functional teams Translate business requirements into high-quality application solutions adhering to IT principles Liaise with third-party providers to ensure business needs are met during solution selection Provide quality assurance throughout the delivery phase, validating designs and testing solutions Promote IT as a strategic partner in defining business-supporting solutions Uphold agreed processes and procedures within the Demand Management and Delivery Framework

To thrive in this role, you must possess a unique blend of technical prowess and business acumen. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, business-oriented language will be instrumental in fostering alignment across diverse teams.
About you
Qualifications and Experience:Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst, integrating complex application landscapes Demonstrated analytical abilities to understand and document intricate business processes Expertise in translating business requirements into IT solutions Project Lead and PM capabilities to drive activities independently Highly experienced in IT solution definition and design, preferably in a large international production industry Experience with third-party solution validation and selection Familiarity with implementing EU Regulations (advantageous)
