About the Role



DCM is actively seeking a resourceful and security-conscious

IT Field Engineer

to join our dynamic support team. You'll provide essential technical services to our clients across a variety of sectors, both remotely and onsite. This is a vital client-facing role where your troubleshooting skills and commitment to security will have a direct impact on the smooth operation of small and medium businesses.

Key Responsibilities



Respond to support tickets and carry out

on-site, off-site, and remote diagnostics and issue resolution

Configure and maintain

routers, switches, access points

, and

firewalls

to enhance network security Perform structured cabling and network patching as needed Install, support, and repair hardware components such as laptops, desktops, printers, and CCTV systems Set up and manage

Microsoft 365

, SharePoint, Teams, and business software suites Ensure

cybersecurity best practices

are applied in all support engagements Conduct routine maintenance, system updates, and patch management Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues and resolve IP conflicts Maintain secure remote access solutions (VPN, RDP, etc.) Record all support activity in our CRM/ticketing system Provide guidance to clients on

email safety, password hygiene

, and threat detection awareness Assist with

firewall configuration

and

endpoint security software deployment

to protect against threats

Required Skills & Experience



Minimum

2 years' field or helpdesk IT support experience

Experience with

hardware repairs

, OS reinstalls, and peripheral support Strong knowledge of

Windows OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP

, and common IT tools Ability to perform

basic firewall setup

, port forwarding, and rule-based access control Experience with

VPN configuration

and troubleshooting remote access issues Working understanding of

cybersecurity concepts

: firewalls, antivirus, endpoint protection, phishing prevention Confidence in using

remote access tools

and ticketing platforms Strong verbal and written communication skills with client-facing experience

Required Certifications (any of the following):



CompTIA A+

or

Network+

Microsoft Certified

(Modern Desktop, Azure, or M365)

CCNA

or

Fortinet NSE

Cybersecurity Certification

(e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or equivalent) - desirable

Security & Background Requirements



Must have

legal right to work in the UK

Must have a

clear criminal record

Willing to undergo

enhanced DBS and security checks

UK Driving Licence

preferred (but not mandatory) Must be flexible and able to work

on-call or extended hours

when needed

Pay: 25,000.00-30,000.00 per year
