Purpose of Role:
The Field Engineer will provide technical expertise in installing and supporting Scanners, MiHealth systems and associated software, Desktop and Network devices. The role combines on-site field work with remote support and desktop support when not travelling. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work across varied technologies.
A company vehicle will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Configuration
Install and configure MiHealth systems, including hardware and software components.
Set up and service Scanners and ensure integration with client systems.
Perform pre-installation checks and post-installation validation.
Install Desktops, Laptops and basic networking equipment
Support & Maintenance
Deliver 2nd and 3rd line IT support both remotely and on-site.
Provide desktop support for hardware and software issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs.
Liaise with third-party suppliers for escalated issues.
Remote Support
Use remote monitoring tools for patching, updates, and diagnostics.
Handle service desk tickets and maintain accurate records in our PSA systems
Customer Interaction
Offer professional, customer-focused service during installations and support calls.
Mentor 1st line analysts to improve technical skills.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to ISO standards and company confidentiality agreements.
Ensure safe working practices and minimise environmental impact.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong technical knowledge of hardware and software installation.
Experience with device integration.
Familiarity with remote support tools and ITIL-based incident management.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage travel schedules.
Desirable:
Previous experience in healthcare IT environments.
Knowledge of networking and IP configuration.
Understanding of NHS data security protocols.
