What are we looking for?

Techex is seeking an onsite IT Manager with experience of managing a small business IT environment to oversee our technical infrastructure on premise and in the cloud. This is an onsite role based at our offices in Bracknell. There may be an occasional need for travel.

Reporting to our Finance and Operations team and working closely with our Technical Director you will:

Implement and own Cyber Essentials Plus standards and ISO27001. Manage network, firewalls and VPN. Owner of laboratory and technical infrastructure Selection, procurement and setup, maintenance and inventory of business infrastructure including laptops, mobiles, print and AV and VOIP. Ownership and maintenance of all business compute infrastructure and software on prem and in cloud. Audit test and document software, networks and hardware to ensure functionality, compliance and security. Respond to internal support requests and troubleshoot software and hardware problems that arise. Ensure all software and hardware is up to date in line with Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001. Undertake routine maintenance to avoid systems outages and failures. Deliver new starter infrastructure training. SharePoint administration and configuration. Conducting risk assessment and assisting with the technical arrangements for external events and shows. Continuous IT improvement leveraging best practice and new technologies as they emerge to improve efficiency. Building access control management, staff pass management and auditing. Customer server builds. Database administration; MySQL, MSSQL, Influx. Oversee all employee related IT responsibilities such as account creation and employee lifecycle management.

What you will need:



Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience / certification in relevant IT Systems Management/Networking.

Essential

Proficient Linux server administration experience. Firewall management experience. Network management experience including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IGMP and VLANs. Demonstrable experience of Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online and SharePoint Online. Experience with Active Directory/Entra systems, Azure AD and migrations as well as user management and group policies. Demonstrable experience of maintaining computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems. Experience troubleshooting systems and managing support queries through to resolution. Compute management & administration (VMWare ESX, Proxmox) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Desirable

Firewall management (Cisco ASA and Firepower). VPN management (user and site to site). K3 experience Prior experience with backup solutions disaster recovery Demonstrable experience of implementing ISO and Cyber Essentials standards would be desirable.
