We have an exciting opportunity to join our project support team, supporting and serving our clinical partners throughout the South West Peninsula.
This is an opportunity to utilise your existing experience and develop your knowledge and skills working within a progressive Peninsula Pathology Network helping to improve and transform the delivery of Pathology.

This is an exciting time for Pathology in Plymouth where we are in the process of upgrading our current laboratory information management system to an electronic patient record (EPR).
You will be educated to degree level or hold equivalent relevant experience and be self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
You will providecomprehensiveIT projectsupporttothedepartmental discipline leadsspecifically on the implementation & delivery of EPIC Beaker, the Pathology module of the EPR project and other important IT related projects as required.

Main duties of the job
o Managing and controlling the scope of projects in a fast-changing health environmento Co-ordination and motivation of a multi-disciplinary project team, including clinicians, nursing staff, support staff, voluntary workers, suppliers, IT experts, and contractorso Adherence to NHS Policies and Protocolo To provide a comprehensive Management and Project Support for three departments with 240 staffo Manage the workload ensuring effective use of resources, producing work of the highest standard, whilst meeting deadlines.
o Support the delivery of IT projects for Pathology within the Plymouth Health Community.o Complete project documentation to support validation and verification of IT systems throughout the project timelineso Managing and delivering projects and project stages with conflicting and competing pressures on the workload and the team including dealing with the mixed expectations of customerso Dealing with cultural change in terms of presenting positively the benefits and risks to the customers, especially when the change is viewed as being enforcedo Achieving task delivery using personnel not under your direct managemento Ensuring suppliers meet agreed targets and milestones.

Projects are undertaken in a structured manner in accordance with Pathology Project Management procedures, standards and Prince 2 methodology and cover a wide range of disciplines including but not restricted to: Clinical systems; Business systems; Infrastructure, and Telecommunications.

Initiate projects as directed by the Pathology IT Manager or departmental operations manager and assess them for feasibility
Identify, analyse and document the project requirements with the clients and undertake an impact analysis to feed into service changes required after project delivery.
Provide managerial and project support to the Pathology Management and departmental Operations Managers
Compile and distribute the agenda for relevant project meetings, to take and distribute minutes at these meetings.
To liaise with other departments and parts of the organisation, following up information and gathering data as needed.
To produce high-quality word-processed letters, reports and other documents as required.
Liaise with Project Managers and Financial Accountants to maintain a record for all capital expenditure.
Identify, in conjunction with customers, the benefits to be realised by meeting the project requirements and the key success factors to be used to measure the project.
Establish, manage, and communicate project plans ensuring all stakeholders understand deliverables and progress.
Manage a number of concurrent projects or act as stage manager for larger projects, as assigned by the Pathology IT Manager or departmental Operations Manager, in a variety of customer areas across different disciplines, ensuring effective and regular communication at all levels with all interested parties
Meet defined project management standards as defined by Pathology IT Manager or departmental Operations Managers and work with PMO to ensure that these standards are met.
Maintain project plans and documentation ensuring that information that feeds into PMO reporting is accurate and timely.
Co-ordinate and manage internal and external parties to ensure their effective involvement in change management, delivery, and ongoing service, according to policy of the customer organisations.
