Durham professional Services is delighted to be working in partnership with our client, a global institute, to recruit an IT Supplier Manager on a contract basis for 3 months. This role is open to UK based candidates only, will be predominantly working from home, and will involve working via an umbrella company.

The Job

Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Operational Services, on a day-to-day basis, you\'ll be involved in the following:

  • Deliver required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers and working within an established contract management plan.
  • Have the ability to effectively manage major digital cloud service providers from initial contract discussion to transition into delivery of service. Ensure the solution delivered is flexible, demonstrates and optimises value for money and will meet the current and future needs of the organisation.
  • Maintain oversight of the software licensing estate, ensuring our client is correctly licensed and meeting compliance requirements at all times
  • Ensure compliance with the current Procurement Policy and Supplier Management Framework, providing supplier assurance.
  • Conduct regular supplier risk assessments as defined in the Supplier Management Framework, to ensure the services are continually delivered our client in accordance with the most recent contract documentation Assess Key Risks identified for suppliers, developing a documented and agreed action plan to mitigate against these risks, managing within the current Risk Framework
  • Understand supplier capabilities, drive forward continuous service improvements, aligning services to business objectives ensuring IT customers are provided with the services they expect with value for money.
The Person

We\'re looking for someone who:
  • Has previous experience of IT supplier and contract management in an IT outsourced environment
  • Is capable to manage budgets, cost new initiatives and working with finance business partners to optimise results. Has budget/finance management experience.
  • Will work with procurement on new initiatives and contract extensions/changes to existing agreements. Solid legal understanding of IT contracts and concepts and ability to draft contract schedules/contract changes (or ability to learn)
  • Can Apply commercial acumen to the business and supplier environment to develop solutions. Demonstrates successful negotiations and how to apply different strategies.
  • Has proven ability to build relationships and influence co-workers, senior management, and 3rd parties.
  • Has a wide appreciation of service management and the resulting ability to supplier manage our service providers (desirable to have at least ITIL qualification)
  • Has experience of managing software suppliers including Microsoft, Oracle and cloud services such as AWS and Azure
  • Proven ability to work with a limited brief and guidance.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
