Job Description
This IT Support role offers an exciting opportunity to provide technical assistance in a higher education environment. Based in Bristol, the position focuses on troubleshooting and resolving technology-related issues.
- Provide first-line IT support to staff and stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems across various devices and systems.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment.
- Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or in person, maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Document and track reported issues and solutions using the organisation's ticketing system.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and IT security protocols.
- Support the Technology department in implementing new IT initiatives and upgrades.
- Provide basic training and guidance to users on IT systems and tools.
A successful IT Support professional should have:
- Practical knowledge of troubleshooting common hardware and software issues.
- Experience using IT ticketing systems to manage support requests effectively.
- An understanding of IT security and data protection principles.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Hourly pay of approximately 12.21.
