Role Overview:
The IT Support Officer will play a key role in maintaining the school's technology infrastructure and enhancing its online presence. This hybrid role involves providing technical support to staff and students while also managing and updating the school's websites to ensure they are modern, functional, and user-friendly.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Support:
Provide first and second-line support for technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking.
Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment including PCs, printers, projectors, and classroom technology.
Maintain user accounts, security groups, and IT asset inventories.
Ensure data protection, security compliance, and backup processes are followed.
Assist in deploying new systems, software, and updates across multiple campuses.
Troubleshoot and escalate issues as needed.
Web Design & Management:
Design, maintain, and update the school's official website and microsites.
Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and align with school branding.
Collaborate with departments to manage content updates and announcements.
Optimize site performance, SEO, and user experience.
Manage website integrations with external systems (e.g., online admissions, LMS portals).
Ensure compliance with GDPR and accessibility standards.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience in IT support and web design (education sector experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, networking fundamentals, and IT troubleshooting.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress or Joomla).
Basic graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop, XD, or Canva.
Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently and across teams in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
Experience working in a school or multi-site environment.
Familiarity with e-learning platforms or virtual learning environments (e.g., Moodle, Microsoft Teams).
Understanding of accessibility, GDPR, and Safeguarding compliance in education.
Salary and Benefits
24,000 - 28,000per year depending on experience
Basic hours are 9am to 6pm?on site
Holiday entitlement is 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Up to 5k annual incentives pro-rata given quarterly on meeting KPIs upon successful probation period
3% annual increase per year on completion from your start date of service and on meeting KPIs
