With ongoing growth and development, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Port of Felixstowe, the UK's largest deep-water port, for a Shift-Based IT Support Technician to join our dynamic Information Systems Department (ISD).
Reporting to the IT Service Desk Manager, you will play a key role in IT operations, including proactive system monitoring, responding to alerts, and taking early action to prevent service disruptions. Your ability to balance reactive support with proactive operational awareness will be key to maintaining system stability and performance. You will also be expected to provide first and second line support in person, by phone, and via email. You'll ensure incidents and requests are logged, prioritised, and resolved in line with service level agreements (SLAs), escalating where necessary and assigning to the appropriate teams.
As the role involves working regular shifts without direct supervision, a high level of self-motivation, accountability, and independent decision-making is essential.
Please note: This is an on-site position that requires working on a shift basis, including some nights and weekends. Additional shift pay will be provided.
