UK Management College are looking for enthusiastic and confident individuals to join our team as an IT Support Technician.

Our business is growing rapidly and as such, we have a number of different roles to fulfill. As this is a role in which you will be dealing with students face to face, this is an office-based role in our new campus in Manchester.

No two days will be the same at UKMC, it will be busy and it is very fast-paced. Your role will be to assist with supporting students, aiding in their use of IT software and general computer maintenance.

Job Purpose

To keep computer systems running smoothly and ensure users get the maximum benefit from them Provide excellent support to both our students and staff
Key Responsibilities

install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications monitor and maintain computer systems and networks provide support in a face-to-face capacity, over the phone or via remote desktop software, helping staff or clients set up systems or resolve issues troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults replace parts as required follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system support the roll-out of new applications set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues respond within agreed time limits to call-outs work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate) prioritise and manage many open cases at one time rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers test and evaluate new technology conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
Person Specification

the ability to work well with others knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and software analytical thinking skills knowledge of engineering science and technology to be thorough and pay attention to detail customer service skills excellent verbal communication skills to be flexible and open to change to be able to use a computer and the main software packages confidently
