Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Technician to work as part of the RSK IT Onboarding team.
This is a full time role (40 hrs pw), based at our head office in Helsby, Cheshire (WAR OAR). You must be able to drive and be willing to travel on a regular basis.
Your role will be to assist with the technical preparation and set up of IT user equipment as well as the delivery and installation of key infrastructure/server equipment to enable the migration of newly acquired businesses into the RSK IT environment.
In addition you will form part of the onsite IT migration team, tasked with making the user/computer configuration changes required to enable them to connect to the RSK network and systems as part of the onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities

  • Technical set up and build of IT user equipment
  • Delivery and installation of key infrastructure/server equipment to multiple locations across the UK
  • Shadow and assist the IT Acquisition Transition Engineer in carrying out and collating information from pre-migration site audits.
  • Documenting the current IT estate/environment and uploading to the IT documentation system
  • Helping to understanding the current operational use of IT and any pain points
  • Arranging the deployment of RMM tools to gather required hardware and software asset lists including licensing and other RSK IT standard tools
  • Assist the Acquisition Transition Engineer in the development of a comprehensive migration plan
  • Use the audit output to identify any new/replacement hardware requirements
  • Ensure required hardware and services are procured and lead times established.
  • Migration Delivery
  • Ensure any new/replacement infrastructure/services are in place to agreed timescales
  • Working with the IT Onboarding coordinator to deliver the smooth transition of the migration process to Business as Usual (BAU) support.
  • Provide both onsite and remote technical IT migration support as part of the wider migration team
  • Carry out/contribute to other non-migration related IT tasks and projects as required by the IT team
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the RSK IT service to ensure it constantly evolves.
Person Specification
  • Proven experience of working within an IT team providing technical support. Experience of IT technical project delivery would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrable technical IT skills with experience including computer builds, Microsoft operating systems and applications and the use of modern deployment/support tools and services
  • Understanding of IT hardware & software support and licensing
  • Proficient in the creation and maintenance of detailed and clear IT documentation; experience of IT Glue a bonus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in writing and face to face
  • Flexible, self-motivated and have a "can do" attitude.
  • Thrives under pressure and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Full clean UK driving licence
