We are looking for a passionate and experienced

Italian Chef

to lead the culinary operations across our two Italian restaurants. One location offers an intimate

30-cover

dining experience, while the second welcomes up to

60 covers

, both celebrating authentic Italian flavours with a modern touch.

As the

Chef

, you will be the heart of the kitchen--bringing traditional Italian recipes to life, creating fresh pasta, sauces, and regional dishes while managing all aspects of the kitchen across both sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled chef who wants creative freedom, responsibility, and the chance to shape the identity of two unique Italian dining destinations.

Key Responsibilities



1. Authentic Italian Menu Creation



Develop seasonal menus inspired by regional Italian traditions Incorporate fresh pasta, handmade pizza dough, classic sauces (ragu, pomodoro, pesto), and Italian desserts like tiramisu or panna cotta. Use fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients, with premium imported Italian products when necessary.

2. Food Preparation & Execution



Prepare all dishes including antipasti, primi, secondi, contorni, and dolci with precision and passion. Ensure pasta, dough, sauces, and stocks are made from scratch wherever possible. Plate dishes beautifully, reflecting Italian simplicity and elegance.

3. Quality & Consistency



Guarantee authentic flavours and consistent presentation across both locations. Perform regular tastings and maintain high standards in every dish served.

4. Kitchen Management & Organisation



Operate independently in the kitchen or guide junior staff where applicable. Maintain a clean, organised kitchen in line with HACCP and food safety standards. Ensure smooth coordination between both sites.

5. Inventory & Supplier Management



Source top-quality Italian ingredients (olive oil, cheeses, cured meats, fresh herbs, wines). Manage stock, minimise waste, and ensure both kitchens are well-prepared for service.

6. Cost & Budget Control



Work within food cost targets without compromising authenticity or quality.

7. Service & Timing Excellence



Plan cooking and preparation times to ensure smooth service for both 30-cover and 60-cover sites.

8. Creativity & Tradition



Balance Italian culinary tradition with modern creativity--introduce daily specials and new dishes that surprise and delight guests. Stay up-to-date with Italian culinary trends and regional innovations.

9. Teamwork & Communication



Collaborate with front-of-house staff to provide excellent guest experiences and handle special dietary or menu requests.

10. Equipment & Maintenance



Take care of kitchen equipment (pizza oven, pasta machines, slicers, etc.) and ensure timely maintenance.

Requirements



Proven experience as an Italian Chef or in a similar role in Italian restaurants or fine dining. Strong knowledge of regional Italian cuisine, fresh pasta making, dough preparation, sauces, and traditional Italian desserts. Ability to manage two small kitchens independently and efficiently. Excellent organisation, time management, and multitasking skills. Passion for Italian food, culture, and hospitality. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining standards. Culinary degree or professional training is an advantage but not essential.

Pay: 12.21-19.96 per hour
