Improving lives through learning
We're looking for a passionate and adaptable Skills Tutor to support young people aged 16-19 on our Jobs Growth Wales+ (JGW+) programme.
In this rewarding role, you'll deliver engaging skills training and enrichment activities to learners on our
Jobs Growth Wales+ (JGW+)
programmes -- supporting those who are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET). You'll inspire learners to gain confidence, develop new skills, and prepare for future employment or further learning.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll plan and deliver sessions that combine essential skills (maths, English, and life skills) with creative, practical experiences that bring learning to life.
What you'll do:
Deliver engaging and meaningful training sessions that help learners develop employability and personal skills.
Plan progressive sessions that build on previous learning and contribute towards qualifications.
Organise enrichment activities, trips and guest speakers that broaden learners' experiences.
Support learners' individual needs by maintaining effective learning plans and liaising with colleagues.
Use ACT's systems (e.g., Vision2) to monitor progress and track outcomes.
Identify and support learners at risk of disengagement, using proactive strategies to keep them on track.
Liaise with Job Centres, Careers Wales, support agencies and other stakeholders.
Uphold ACT's safeguarding, equality, and sustainability standards at all times.
