We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to assist an individual with cerebral palsy and autism in their daily activities. He likes music, art and craft going out and about. He has a bright sociable nature and enjoys company.
Must like large friendly dogs as the family have an 8 year old Alsatian dog, who thinks he's 2 .
The ideal candidate will provide personalised care, promote independence, and enhance the quality of life for the client.
He likes some personal space at times to relax and this must be respected.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, ensuring food is appropriately prepared to accommodate chewing difficulties.
Mobility Support: Aid with movement around the home, ensuring safety and comfort.
Health Monitoring: Be attentive to health needs, particularly respiratory conditions, and respond appropriately to any concerns.
Companionship: Engage in meaningful interactions to promote social well-being.
Transportation Assistance: Support with preparations for attending weekly sessions at a local centre, as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Understanding of cerebral palsy and autism spectrum conditions is advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, patient, and empathetic nature.

References: Two up-to-date references are required, one of which must be from a present or previous employer.
PVG Checks: A new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment. The cost of the disclosure will be met by the employer.
Probationary Period: A 6-month probationary period applies to this post. During this period, either party can end the employment by giving the other one week's notice.
