To carry out a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks across Totalis facilities, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, within deadlines, and in accordance with health and safety regulations. The role requires strong joinery skills alongside general maintenance capabilities across multiple trades.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks across company sites.
Carry out joinery work, including fitting doors, skirting, architraves, locks, shelving, partitions, and other timber structures.
Perform general building maintenance such as minor plumbing, basic electrical work (e.g. changing fittings), plaster patching, tiling, and painting.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
Assist in the installation, assembly, and repair of office and workshop fixtures, furniture, and fittings.
Ensure all work is completed safely, to specification, and in compliance with company and statutory health & safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections and report any defects, hazards, or potential maintenance issues.
Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time allocation.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers as required to support maintenance operations.
Contribute to the ongoing upkeep and presentation of Totalis facilities, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Time-served or NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in Joinery or Carpentry.
Proven experience in general building maintenance or similar multi-skilled roles.
Good knowledge of other trades (basic plumbing, electrical, decorating, tiling, etc.).
Strong practical skills with an eye for detail and quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
Strong awareness of Health & Safety standards and safe working practices.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience working in commercial or industrial premises.
Knowledge of facilities management processes and maintenance scheduling.
Basic IT literacy (for maintenance reporting systems).
Valid CSR card or equivalent.
