We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and other material structures on-site and in workshop environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential roofing to bespoke carpentry, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship and construction excellence. Applicants should possess a strong background in joinery and related trades, with a keen eye for detail and safety.
Duties
Fabricate bespoke timber components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
Assemble structural elements such as frameworks, flooring, and roofing components with precision
Install joinery elements including doors, windows, staircases, and cabinetry in accordance with project specifications
Operate hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers efficiently and safely
Use power tools including drills, sanders, and saws to complete tasks accurately
Assist with roofing tasks including fixing battens, tiles or slates as required
Perform heavy lifting of materials safely to ensure smooth workflow on-site
Conduct construction painting, plumbing or masonry work when necessary for project completion
Collaborate with other trades such as electricians or plumbers during integrated building projects
Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety standards
Skills
Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry with a strong understanding of joinery techniques
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Knowledge of roofing techniques and materials
Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently during construction activities
Experience with construction painting, plumbing, masonry or electrical systems is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring and fitting components accurately
Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
