The Journals Coordinator supports the day-to-day activities involved in publishing Bristol University Press's (BUP) journals and is the main publisher contact for a number of journals on the list. BUP currently publishes 24 journals with two more launching in 2026.
Hybrid working is available with every Wednesday in the office plus a minimum of one other office day is expected.
What will you be doing?

You will:
Work closely with external academic Journal Editors and the BUP journals team to publish our journals.
Your key responsibilities include: communicating with and advising academic journal editor teams; preparing board reports and attending board meetings; configuring online systems to manage peer review; working with the Journals Manager to develop our journals and services; and collaborating with the production and marketing teams.

You are highly self-motivated, conscientious, organised and able to act on your initiative as well as being an excellent team player. You will ideally have significant experience in journals publishing, working with editors and authors to deliver a high-quality service.
