We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with various accounting software. The ideal candidate will be adept at data entry, accounts payable, and maintaining accurate financial records. Good written and spoken English are essential.

Duties & Responsibilities
Sales Ledger Processing:
Convert sales orders to sales invoices and post to the ledger.
Process card payments (Worldpay) and notify the Sales Department.
Issue refunds and credit notes as instructed.
Post international invoices to the ledger.
Raise rent invoices quarterly.
Run monthly customer statements, email them to customers, and follow up on arrears.
Purchases:
Convert daily purchase orders to supplier invoices.
Reconcile supplier statements.
Run weekly aged creditors report, prepare payment lists, and pass to the Managing Director.
Apply payments to supplier accounts and send remittance advices.
Maintain the aged creditors spreadsheet weekly.
Liaise with suppliers and answer queries.
Post all Direct Debit invoices on Sage.
Notify the Sales Department of any discrepancies.
Bank:
Post all receipts and payments to the ledger for all currencies.
Regularly reconcile bank entries on Sage to bank statements.
Maintain the internal HSBC spreadsheet daily.
General:
Check emails daily.
Answer telephone calls and direct them as appropriate.
File documents and maintain the filing system.
Requirements
Strong understanding of accounting principles.
3 years experience with accounting software, particularly Sage 50.
Proficiency in data entry and accounts payable.
Excellent written and spoken English at a native level.
Detail-oriented and proactive approach.
