Job Title: Junior Automation Installation Engineer
Department: Installation & Aftersales
Reports to: Senior Installation Engineer / Head of Installation
Location: Various UK sites / Travel required
Job Purpose
To assist in the installation, commissioning, and support of automated systems including conveyors, robotic cells, and crane systems. The role involves learning mechanical and electrical fault finding, supporting senior engineers, and developing technical skills in automation engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Installation Support
- Assist in the installation of automated systems including conveyors, robotic arms, and cranes.
- Support senior engineers in interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Help ensure installations meet safety and quality standards.
Fault Finding & Diagnostics
- Learn and assist with electrical and mechanical fault finding.
- Use basic diagnostic tools under supervision.
- Participate in software testing and validation activities.
Technical Support & Maintenance
- Provide support during routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Document issues and resolutions for review by senior staff.
- Attend client sites and assist with training and support activities.
Health & Safety
- Follow RAMS and site-specific safety protocols.
- Comply with HSE regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate records of work and safety checks.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Basic understanding of automation systems and components.
- Interest in electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Desirable
- Exposure to PLCs or automation software.
- Familiarity with site safety practices.
- Hands-on experience through education or internships.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Valid CSCS card or willingness to obtain.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.

Pay: 30,000.00-45,000.00 per year
