Junior Bench Joiner - Workshop Based

Utopia Spaces Ltd is looking for a motivated

Junior Bench Joiner

to join our growing workshop team. This role is ideal for someone with basic joinery skills who wants to develop within a fast-paced bespoke manufacturing environment. You will support the production of high-quality joinery for commercial interiors, events, retail and exhibition projects, working under the guidance of senior joiners and workshop management.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the manufacture of bespoke joinery items including counters, bars, cabinetry, display units and furniture. Support senior joiners with cutting, assembling and preparing materials. Learn to read and understand technical drawings and cutting lists. Operate hand tools and basic woodworking machinery under supervision. Help with general workshop duties including sanding, gluing, fixing and finishing. Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace. Contribute to meeting production deadlines as part of the wider workshop team.

Requirements

Some joinery experience, workshop exposure, or a relevant college course (preferred but not essential).

Must be self-motivated, forward-thinking and eager to develop new skills.

Genuine interest in woodworking and joinery. Good work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and work safely at all times. Basic understanding of tools and materials (MDF, timber, plywood, etc.). Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable (Not Essential)

Joinery or carpentry qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds / college course). Experience in a workshop or construction environment. Familiarity with basic machinery or CNC equipment.
