Role Overview
This entry-level role combines technical CAD design with practical exposure to factory processes and on-site service activities. The successful candidate will support the design team by producing accurate CAD drawings and assist with technical coordination, while also gaining hands-on experience through factory-based tasks and service calls. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to develop both design and practical engineering skills.
Key Responsibilities
CAD & Technical Support
Produce and update CAD drawings under supervision.
Maintain drawing registers and assist with technical documentation.
Interpret architectural and structural drawings with guidance.
Support design reviews and help prepare technical submittals.
Factory & Service Support
Assist in the factory with basic tasks such as checking components, supporting prototype builds, and learning manufacturing processes.
Attend occasional site visits with senior staff for surveys, inspections, and service calls.
Help troubleshoot minor installation or service issues under guidance.
Project Assistance
Support Project Managers with organising technical information and documentation.
Assist in tracking design changes and technical actions.
Quality, Health & Safety
Ensure all work complies with company standards and health & safety guidelines.
Participate in risk assessments and method statements where relevant.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Basic experience with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar).
Ability to read and understand simple technical drawings.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Desirable:
Exposure to construction, glazing, or manufacturing environments.
Studying toward or holding a qualification in Engineering, Construction, or related discipline.
CSCS Card or willingness to obtain one.

This role will be office based, with some occasional site and factory visits. Salary range is dependant on experience.
