Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Junior Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the culinary operations of our establishment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the creation of exceptional food experiences. You will work closely with senior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the highest standards of food production and safety.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of ready to eat prodcuts according to established recipes and standards. Support in our food truck events both at the shop and externally at weddings and festivals. Support senior chefs in menu planning, food presentation, and portion control. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Help supervise kitchen staff during service periods, ensuring efficient workflow and teamwork. Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed. Contribute creative ideas for menu items and special events.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for cooking is key. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is advantageous. A background in hospitality or restaurant settings will be beneficial for understanding the pace of service. Strong team management skills with the ability to work collaboratively under pressure. A willingness to learn new techniques and expand culinary knowledge is essential.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 10.00-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
