Job Description

Join Us as a Junior DevOps Engineer

Are you a budding engineer looking to launch your career in DevOps?

DIGI2AL is a rapidly growing team of innovators, and we're looking for passionate individuals to help us deliver exciting projects across the public sector and defence.

We're not just a company; we're a team of creatives, specialists, and technologists working together to solve complex problems.

If you're eager to learn and grow, this is the perfect place for you.

Description of the work

Your Role as a DevOps Engineer

As part of our growing DevOps practice, you'll be deployed on key client projects, where you'll collaborate with the team to accelerate delivery and share best practices. A great example of the kind of work you'll do is our "Open Architecture Research & Development" project. Here, we're developing a secure, scalable platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for a defence client. This platform will use a containerised architecture to process maritime data, and you'll work alongside skilled engineers to help build and mature it.

As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key part of our technical team, learning on the job by building and implementing software components. You'll work under the guidance of experienced engineers, contributing to real-world projects from day one.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

Building Complex Solutions

. You'll assist in building and configuring components of a larger project, helping to bring a complex technical story to life.

Hands-On Implementation

. You will focus on the practical implementation of solutions, gaining valuable experience with cutting-edge tools and technologies.

Learning and Growth

. You'll work under direct supervision, receiving mentorship and feedback to help you quickly develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.

Life at DIGI2AL

At Digi2al, you're not just an employee; you're a core member of our "DIGI2AL team." Beyond your client projects, you'll also be an integral part of our HQ team, collaborating with other digital, data, and technology (DDaT) professionals. This means you'll have the opportunity to:

Help shape future solutions and contribute to wider company initiatives. Get involved in every aspect of the business, from business automation to contributing to bids. Work on prototypes and proof of concepts in our HQ Labs, which focuses on solving complex defence and security problems.

We believe in supporting our team members through the highs and lows.

We're a team that's there to support, encourage, and help you on your professional journey. If you're ready to join a company where you can make a real difference and grow your career, we want to hear from you.

Experience & skills

Technical Expertise:

We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual with a foundational understanding of DevOps principles. While you won't be expected to have extensive experience, any exposure to the following is a plus:

for cloud infrastructure, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.

Containerisation & Orchestration:
