We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting the organisation's budgeting and planning processes. Duties
Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather relevant data and ensure accuracy in estimates.
Develop detailed budgets for projects, considering labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
Monitor ongoing projects to ensure costs remain within approved budgets and identify potential areas for cost optimisation.
Prepare tender documents and assist in bid submissions by providing accurate financial assessments.
Maintain organised records of all estimates, revisions, and related correspondence for future reference.
Support the organisation's cost control initiatives by analysing variances between estimated and actual costs throughout project execution.
Keep abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new materials or technologies that could impact project costs.
Skills
Proven experience in estimating within construction, manufacturing, or related industries.
Strong understanding of cost control principles and techniques.
Excellent numerical skills with high attention to detail.
Proficient in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts accurately.
Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
Organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
