Job Overview

As part of the design team within our Fire and Safety division, your role is to assist in the delivery of the project design documents. In-house training shall be provided to enable you to fulfil this role to learn about regulations and standard requirement for the fire safety industry. In this role you will use 2D and 3D CAD software to create technical drawings and schematics and assist engineers with project tasks. This role will suit a junior CAD technician looking to develop their skills and enhance their capabilities.

Responsibilities

1. To produce Project Design documents utilizing 3D Inventor,3D Plant & 2D Auto CAD software.

2. To adhere to Company Design Processes & Procedures.

3. To utilise AutoCAD Vault to ensure storage & maintenance of all CAD Data produced.

4. Willingness to progress towards a senior designer role.

5. To support Engineering to produce Drawings for current Projects.

6. To attend both Internal & External Design Reviews.

7. To fulfil all internal training requirements.

8. To gain appropriate qualifications for Fire & Safety Designer Position.

9. Ensure all documentation used during or resulting from any projects are controlled in accordance with the company quality procedures.

10. Occasional site visits where required pursuant with the execution of the project works.

Skills

Basic knowledge of construction principles relevant to mechanical systems. Familiarity with system design processes and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Good communication skills, capable of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Eagerness to learn new technical skills and industry standards. Prior experience or coursework related to mechanical engineering or design is advantageous but not essential. This role provides a solid foundation for aspiring mechanical designers seeking practical experience in a professional setting while contributing to innovative projects within our organisation.
