We are seeking a

Junior Mechanical Design Engineer - Electronics

to join our Electronics team. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow your expertise in the design of wiring harnesses, enclosures, tooling, fixtures, and installations, contributing directly to the performance and reliability of our cars both on and off track.



As part of a fast-paced, innovative team, you'll work on projects spanning car installations, test rigs, the simulator, and the wind tunnel - helping to shape the mechanical and electronic systems that power our pursuit of championship success.

Key Responsibilities





Design and develop wiring harnesses, mechanical parts, enclosures, tooling, fixtures, and installations for the race car. Produce technical and assembly drawings for mechanical, composite, and electronic components, including associated tooling. Support the generation of harness and installation CAD schemes, schematics, bills of materials, and manufacturing documentation. Ensure designs meet specifications while minimising weight/volume and complying with FIA regulations. Collaborate with design groups to achieve integrated and effective packaging solutions. Liaise with production, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to resolve design-related queries. Support initial builds to quickly identify and resolve issues. Provide proactive input to the continuous improvement of processes, documentation, and design practices. Work flexibly across projects, including supporting electronics workshop activities as required. Maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge of industry-standard design practices and CAD tools.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise



Essential

Relevant qualification and experience in mechanical design, preferably with electronics focus. Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (preferably CATIA 3DX). Understanding of electrical systems and electronics. Innovative and practical approach to problem-solving with exceptional attention to detail. Highly motivated, results-driven, and able to perform under pressure to meet demanding schedules. Flexible, collaborative team player with the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment. Strong decision-making skills and commitment to Health & Safety standards.

Beneficial

Experience designing carbon fibre components, enclosures, tooling, and installations (motorsport preferred). Understanding of electrical systems and electronics. Knowledge of harness design, connector selection, and wiring schematics. Familiarity with Catia Electrical Workbench, Zuken, and Altium design tools.
