Junior Project Engineer

Responsible to:

Engineering Manager

1. Responsible for:



Project Management post order electrical switchgear and for the Engineering component within the company's Quality Management System, including compliance, and auditing, in accordance with the ISO9001 standard and end to end process.

Supporting the engineering team in their day-to-day engineering duties.

Ensuring that technical documents and records are generated for all projects in accordance with the company's Quality Management System. Ensuring compliance and providing certification to BS EN 61439.

Liaising with customer's post-order, including resolving commercial or technical conflicts.

Provision of financial, and technical assistance as necessary to the Sales Team, including Technical Submissions and pricing information for quotation purposes and variations to ongoing Projects.

Procurement of goods in line with the operational requirement.

2. Occupational Skills:



i. A good standard of general education with proven written and verbal communication skills.

ii. Working towards a good knowledge of Auto-Cad drawing package.

iii. Good communication skills.

iv. Knowledge of BS EN 61439.

v. Able to work well as a team across multiple functions

vi. Positive attitude towards learning new skills and commitment to achieving additional qualifications for the role supported by the business.

vii. Good product knowledge of Switchboards including control circuitry and ancillary items such as Auto Changer Over Systems and Power factor Correction.

3. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities



3a) Engineering

i. Timely implementation and development of the Engineering plan.

ii. Able to interpret customer requirements and technical specifications to produce technical documents / records for all projects that are suitable and sufficient for manufacture, and in accordance with the company's Quality Management System and end to end process.

iii. Ensuring that all products are manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN 61439

iv. Be an integral member of the Engineering team helping shape the future of the business, providing performance data to the Engineering Manager.

v. Enforce all Health and Safety matters relative to the area.

vi. Provision of contractual, financial, and technical assistance to the Sales /Estimating Teams, including Technical Submissions and pricing information for quotation purposes.

vii. Managing and liaising with customers post-order, including resolving commercial or technical conflicts

viii. To lead smaller projects as designated, to completion ensuring the finished product is Right First Time.

3c) Health & Safety

i. To ensure that all the regulations relating to the safe operation and maintenance of equipment and plant are adhered to.

ii. To ensure that the company's Health & Safety policy is applied at all times by yourself and all staff within your area of responsibility.

3e) Other Duties

i. To maintain daily communication with the various sales, planning and production departments and any other staff who impact on your area of control.

ii. To act appropriately with members of the wider team to support the 'one team' ethos of the business and help promote a positive culture.

iii. To promote the company image as professional and positive both internally and externally at all times.

4. Vision / Context



The position exists to ensure that the business meets its Engineering targets whilst operating in a compliant and safe manner.

The role encompasses (not exclusively) managing engineering projects from end to end, ensuring that the Engineering processes are completed in line with specification and agreed timings, also within budget.

All of this is to be done whilst ensuring the companies vision and business requirements are met, both commercially and technically.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 24,420.00 per year

electrical switchgear engineering: 1 year (preferred)
