Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously planned and monitored. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methods and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budget adherence. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather necessary information for accurate budgeting. Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects. Provide regular reports on project costs and financial forecasts to management. Assist in resolving any financial disputes that may arise during the course of a project.

Skills

Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools for estimating costs. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with various stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
