Job Overview

We are looking for a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be working alongside our own QS, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, providing valuable insights and support throughout each project.

A knowledge in construction would be a huge advantage.

You will be joining a close-knit team, many of whom have worked together for many years.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Monitor project costs and implement effective cost control measures to ensure financial objectives are met. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting. Prepare tender documents, contracts, and procurement strategies for various projects. Analyse and evaluate bids from contractors and suppliers to ensure value for money. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects. Attend site meetings and liaise with the site teams. The ability to work unattended.

Qualifications

HND/ degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in cost estimations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration throughout the projects. Very good organisational skills, including a memory to cope with several hundred things a day! Proficiency in relevant software applications for quantity surveying and project management.
Wages to be discussed, depending on experience.
