Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs and ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously planned and monitored. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, and overheads. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budget adherence. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to provide accurate financial advice throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare tender documents and assist in the selection of contractors through competitive bidding processes. Evaluate and negotiate contracts to ensure value for money while maintaining quality standards. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects. Provide regular reports on project costs, forecasts, and variances to stakeholders.

Skills

Strong understanding of cost control methodologies and practices within the construction sector. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation and reporting. Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools for effective project management. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders including clients, contractors, and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred, along with relevant professional qualifications or memberships.
