Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of cost estimates for various projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control principles and the ability to analyse project specifications and requirements effectively.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other documentation. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimations. Conduct thorough market research to determine material and labour costs. Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure competitive estimates. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, implementing cost control measures as necessary. Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, including methodologies used and assumptions made. Provide support during the bidding process by presenting estimates to clients and addressing any queries they may have.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Estimator in a relevant field, with a strong understanding of cost control principles. Proficient in using estimation software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure precise estimations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with clients and team members. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. A degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
