We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef with the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food quality and safety are maintained. This position requires strong leadership abilities, culinary expertise, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative environment within the team.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and adherence to recipes. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Help in menu development, including creating innovative dishes that reflect current culinary trends. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.

Experience

Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or culinary setting. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising staff. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and management. A passion for food production and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
