The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer is looking for a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef & Sous Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts, with a focus on food safety and production.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef & Sous Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with the Head Chef & Sous Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings that reflect current culinary trends.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
Help resolve any issues that arise during service, ensuring a smooth operation at all times.
Skills
Strong background in hospitality with a passion for culinary arts.
Comprehensive knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Experience in food production and preparation within a restaurant setting.
