Junior Sous Chef
to join our dynamic kitchen team and play a key role in maintaining our reputation for excellence.
The Role
As Junior Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, from food preparation to service and mentoring junior team members. You will take an active role in maintaining Porter & Rye's high standards of consistency, creativity, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and efficiency.
Contribute to menu development, bringing creative ideas and innovation.
Maintain strict standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
Lead and inspire junior chefs, fostering a supportive learning environment.
Take charge of sections during busy service periods.
Assist with ordering, stock control, and waste management.
About You
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous in a high-quality kitchen.
A genuine passion for modern cuisine and seasonal produce.
Excellent organisation and communication skills.
A proactive and positive approach under pressure.
