As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety, and maintaining a high standard of culinary excellence. Responsibilities
Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily food production activities
Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonality
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high-quality standards
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
Manage inventory levels, including ordering and stock control
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Strong background in food production and preparation techniques
Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead by example
Kitchen experience with a passion for cooking and hospitality
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
Strong leadership qualities with effective communication skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
