Gloagburn is a well established family owned restaurant and farm shop on the outskirts of Perth, PH1 1QL.

Our 130 cover restaurant is open 8.30am to 5.30pm serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea with the emphasis on good quality, seasonal, local and Scottish produce and an excellent standard of customer service. In addition we hold steak nights on the last Friday in the month October through March.

Our busy and recently expanded Farm shop includes all the local produce you would expect as well as ingredients from around the world, our own bakery and in house butchery.

Junior Sous Chef



We have a vacancy for a Junior Sous Chef to complete our well established brigade and support our Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily running of the kitchen and team of up to 8 per shift.

Gloagburn is a well established family run business on the outskirts of Perth consisting of a farm shop and busy 130 cover coffee shop. Our kitchen and bakery use fresh local produce to provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea service in the restaurant as well as the production of an extensive range of baked goods, soups, ready meals and deli items for retail in the farm shop. This is a great opportunity for an experienced chef looking for a new challenge.

You will have a passion for food, experience of planning and producing dishes from scratch using local, seasonal ingredients and proven cookery skills.

Experience in kitchen management and team management would be an advantage.

This is a busy hands on position, producing good food to a consistently high standard for up to 500 covers a day in a fast paced kitchen.

This position is full time, working five days from seven 07:30am - 4:30pm.

No evening work required.

The annual salary offered is up to 32,000 depending on experience.

Due to our rural location your own transport is essential.

The Job



Overseeing daily kitchen operations in the absence of the head chef and sous chef, ensuring consistent standards of food preparation and production. Supervision of kitchen staff, providing guidance and controlling service. Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. Assisting in food production for retail and menu planning. Collaboration with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.

The person



You will have several years experience in a kitchen environment, Proven cookery knowledge and skills. Experience of high volume catering A can do attitude and the ability to communicate effectively and motivate a team.
