We are seeking a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in food preparation and production, ensuring that our restaurant maintains the highest standards of quality and service.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards.
Ensure proper food preparation techniques are followed to maintain safety and hygiene standards.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
Handle any customer inquiries or concerns regarding food quality or dietary restrictions.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role within the culinary industry and looking to progress up the ladder.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management practices.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong leadership qualities with experience in supervising and training team members.
A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Familiarity with various cuisines is an advantage; creativity in menu planning is highly valued.
