Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations within a restaurant environment (preferably with rosette experience). You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our meals are prepared to the highest quality while maintaining our kitchen health and safety standards.

About The Dower House Hotel

The Dower House Hotel is an elegant and intimate country house hotel which hosts multiple weddings throughout the year as well as having an intimate 24 cover restaurant situated within the hotel.

Duties

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Assist in the organisation of the kitchen, including maintaining cleanliness and orderliness. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management. Help in the training of new kitchen staff as needed. Participate in menu planning and development, providing input on seasonal dishes.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation techniques. Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. A genuine passion for cooking and creating delicious meals. Able to provide your own transportation.
