We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to food safety, and a flair for culinary creativity.
Duties
Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation and production.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to at all times.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
Help resolve any issues that arise within the kitchen team or during service.
Experience
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques and presentation.
Demonstrated ability in team management and leadership within a fast-paced kitchen setting.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn and grow within the culinary field.
