Star Boarding kennels and Cattery have a rare opportunity to employ a skilled and enthusiastic supervisor to join our small hard-working team and help expand, develop and diversify the business. We're looking for an outstanding, flexible and positive person who can provide top quality care in line with our 5 star licensed policies and procedures.
You should have a mature attitude, be personable and professional, totally reliable and be able to demonstrate the following:
1. experience working with animals, preferably in a kennel and cattery boarding environment. Must have a minimum level 3 animal care qualification or similar.
2. ability to work with and manage a small team

5. fine attention to detail while working under pressure
6. relentless energy and self-motivation
7. happy to work outside in all weathers.
The role is a full-time post and the candidate must be available to work 365 days a year including weekends, public and school holidays.
Tasks:
To assist the Manager and assistant manager in all of the below
Overseeing and managing staff on the ground, exercising, feeding, grooming and all aspects of care for the animals in our establishment. Keeping exercise yards and surrounding areas clean, neat and tidy. You are expected to do these tasks alongside staff and control-check to ensure high standards are maintained in all areas. The welfare of our boarding animals is paramount, and you would need to have a scrupulous eye for detail especially when feeding and administering medication.
We are looking for someone who is confident and knowledgeable in reading dog and cat behaviour and body language.
Staff:
Motivating and tactfully managing staff, ensuring a positive and stable working environment is maintained. We are a small team and staff happiness is essential.
Training new members of the team and bringing them up to our high standards. Assisting them in achieving any animal care related qualifications. Completing staff reports and settings aims and objectives for their continued development.
Site Management:
Conduct regular inspections of all buildings and facilities and report any repairs/maintenance required, ensuring the site is kept in a secure, tidy and attractive condition. We actively encourage ideas for improvement.
Salary:
Negotiable depending on experience.
After an initial probationary period, in which any training and on-going support will be given, the role will evolve into the supervisor position. Reporting on a regular basis to the onsite owners. A keen attitude to learn new skills rapidly is crucial and an eye to creatively develop the business further is encouraged.
