To ensure the health, wellbeing, and safety of all dogs onsite by providing high standards of care, cleanliness, exercise and enrichment. This role supports the daily operations of the kennels and facilities and contributes to the overall positive experience of dogs in the training centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Dog Care & Welfare:
Provide daily care for dogs at our training facility, including exercising, feeding, watering, and cleaning.
Monitor the physical and mental wellbeing of each dog, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
Administer enrichment and exercise routines to meet each dog's individual needs. (Training provided)
Follow all welfare protocols to maintain high standards of care.
Kennel & Facility Maintenance:
Clean and disinfect kennels and all dog living quarters to ensure hygiene and safety.
Maintain cleanliness of outdoor and indoor areas.
Ensure all equipment and supplies are used safely and stored appropriately.
Teamwork & Communication:
Work closely with the Welfare and Training Development teams to support dog readiness for training.
Participate in team meetings and ongoing training/development sessions as required.
Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding dog behaviour, welfare, or operational updates.
Health & Safety:
Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe environment for dogs and staff.
Assist in handling dogs safely, including moving them between areas or assisting with training sessions when required.
Key Skills & Attributes:
Genuine passion for animal welfare and dog behaviour.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of responsibility and attention to detail.
Physically fit and capable of handling dogs of all sizes. (Previous experience preferred but not a deal breaker)
Good communication and time management skills.
Calm and patient in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
(Preferred) Previous experience working with dogs (kennels, daycare, rescue, veterinary or training setting).
Animal care or welfare qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Animal Management or equivalent). (apprenticeship opportunity available alongside this role with qualifications)
(Preferred)Understanding of dog body language and behaviour.
Canine First Aid (training can be provided).
Working Hours:
Depending on the applicant we have a variety of work options available
