We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our kennels . The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of our animal patients, providing essential support to our veterinary team. The role involves working closely with animals, and staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and care.

Duties



Assist with the daily cleaning and sanitisation of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment. Provide basic animal care including feeding, watering, and monitoring behaviour and health status. Support veterinary staff during examinations and procedures by handling animals gently and securely. Assist with the transportation of animals within the premises as required. Maintain accurate records of animal intake, treatments, and discharge information. Engage with pet owners in a friendly and professional manner, providing reassurance and answering basic questions about animal care. Help with stock management by organising supplies such as food, bedding, and cleaning materials. Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for staff and animals.

Skills



Previous veterinary experience or animal care background is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate. Strong animal handling skills combined with patience and compassion. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving supplies or assisting with larger animals. Organised with good attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and cleanliness standards. Reliable team player with a proactive attitude towards hygiene standards. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 24,420.00-25,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
