Job Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Kennel Assistant
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and be comfortable working in a hands-on role that involves physical activity, cleaning duties, and interacting with dogs and puppies of various breeds and sizes.
Key Responsibilities
Feed, water, and monitor the health and wellbeing of dogs and puppies
Clean kennels, exercise areas, and facilities to maintain high hygiene standards
Assist with bathing, grooming, and basic health checks
Socialise puppies and provide enrichment activities
Observe and report signs of illness or distress
Assist during whelping (puppy birth) if needed
Help with record-keeping and general administration related to animal care
Provide excellent customer service to prospective puppy buyers and visitors
Work cooperatively as part of a small, friendly team
Requirements
Prior experience working with animals is desirable but not essential (full training provided)
Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks
Good communication skills and a team player attitude
Ability to remain calm and caring in a busy or emotional environment
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays on a rota basis
Reliable transportation to our rural location (due to limited public transport)
