Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team, with the hopes to progress to a Senior Position. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care. This position requires a love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals while providing excellent customer service to our clients. You will be working closely with the management team, helping them uphold and maintain our core values and standards within the rest of the team.

Your duties will include:

- Providing daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and cats.

- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities by performing regular cleaning tasks.

- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.

- Assist with administering medications as directed.

- Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets' well-being and addressing any questions or concerns.

- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for both animals and staff.

The ideal applicant will have the following:

- Previous experience in animal care or a veterinary setting is preferred but not essential.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or moving equipment.

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.

- A genuine passion for animal welfare and the ability to handle various breeds and temperaments with care.

- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
