Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our nursing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and attention to detail to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the practice. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for all animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising inpatients. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within, including cleaning kennels, cattery and theatres, cleaning instruments, washing bedding. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Ensure consulting areas clean and stocked.

Qualifications

Experience in animal handling or care, is preferred but full training will be provided. Previous experience as an Animal Care Assistant, Veterinary Care Assistant, or in a kennel setting is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling large breeds or moving equipment. A compassionate attitude towards animals along with patience and understanding in handling various breeds and temperaments. Empathy and courtesy for their owners.
